Mimiko (Gözde ‘Mimiko’ Türkkan) is an artist based in Istanbul who mostly produces videos, photography series, artist’s books and textual and performative works, focusing on connecting to/through the body and transcending the body.
Following a BA degree in Photography & Video from Istanbul Bilgi University in 2008, Mimiko received her MA Fine Art degree in the University of the Arts London, Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in 2010.
In addition to solo exhibitions in Turkey, France and Geneva, she participated in group exhibitions, biennials and screenings in various museums and art institutions internationally.
